Andrea Butterfly

I started drawing this a very long time ago (March 10, 2006, just after finishing [link]).

Most of the colouring was done the first week, with some additions during the next months. There's even a scan from 2007 that shows how she was then: [link]

And so, two whole more years passed before I decided to apply some more colour. And this is the end result. I finished her just a couple of hours ago, because I just felt I had to finish her.

In the very beginning I thought I would call her "Sailor Butterfly" because her outfit remembered vaguely the Sailor Scouts' uniform. But that was a provisional name because I could not think of her as part of the Sailor Moon Universe. She ended being something very different, and during this years I became more attached to her. So I decided to give her the most precious name I reserve for my best female drawings.

Technique: Prismacolor pencils / some details with 0.5 mechanical pencil / more details with black, silver and white ink.

Empecé a dibujar esto hace mucho tiempo (marzo 10 de 2006, justo después de terminar [link] ).

Mucho del coloreado lo hice durante la primera semana, con algunas adiciones en los siguientes meses. Incluso hay un scan del progreso que la muestra cómo era en el año 2007: [link]

Y así pasaron dos años más antes de que me decidiera aplicar más color. Y este es el resultado final. La acabé hace apenas un par de horas, porque sentía que tenía que terminarla.

En el principio pensé llamarla "Sailor Butterfly", por el diseño de su vestuario que recuerda vagamente el uniforme de las Sailor Scouts. Pero ese era un nombre provisional porque no podía pensar en ella como parte del universo Sailor Moon. Además, ella acabó siendo algo totalmente diferente, y por eso decidí bautizarla con el nombre que me es más apreciado y que reservo para mis mejores dibujos femeninos.

Técnica: colores Prismacolor / algunos detalles con portaminas 0.5 / más detalles con tinta china negra, plateada y blanca a plumilla.
