Heart of Gold - process

The original lineart is by the nice artist who gave me her kind permission to use the beautiful drawing she made ([link] ) to make this metal embossing work.

The size of the metalwork is 35 X 42 cm (13.7X16.5 inches) and the outer frame measures 49 X 56 cm (19X22 inches).

There are 9 different metal parts, all separate and worked individually:
- The background (all embossed with roses and other decoration)
- The body
- The hair is a separate piece
- The dress is also a different piece
- The veil she holds in the left hand is another piece
- Left wing (textured with metal brushes)
- Right wing (textured with metal brushes)
- The lute
- The feather on the lute
There is also an accessory chain that I bought specifically for this work

After each part was finished, the assembly process started.
Diana (that’s her name) is not in contact with the background. She sits on small supports that raise her about 1.5 (½ inch) above the background.
